The Bill (Reg. No.4284) supplements Article 218 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine with a new regulation, pursuant to which "presenting materials of pre-trial inquiry, an investigation officer shall provide the defendant with a certified copy of description of criminal case materials, which is notified in the protocol on closure of a trial and on presentation of case materials to the defendant and his\her defender".
Having scrutinized the Bill, the Committee members stated that its adoption would enhance protection of the constitutional rights and liberties of an individual and a citizen, and serve as an extra safeguard of observance of defendant´s rights.
